The Forest Park City Council on March 3 adopted Ordinance 01-2025 to rezone 49.927 acres of the Cincinnati Mall from PB (plant business) to IP (industrial park).
Council members voted 5-2 to approve the measure after the clerk read the ordinance title and the mayor moved for adoption. "I would urge adoption," the mayor said during the motion. The ordinance had been posted six days before the meeting, the clerk noted.
The rezoned parcel covers 49.927 acres north of I-275, east of Winton Road and bounded by the city limits of Springdale, according to the ordinance title read at the meeting. Councilmembers Clark, Harrison, Moore, Sylvester and Brown voted yes. Councilmembers Oates and Adams voted no.
Council discussion at the meeting referenced a public hearing on the item earlier in the agenda and noted the rezoning has been under consideration for about three years, but no specific development proposals or timelines were stated on the record. The clerk read the ordinance by title only after the council voted to suspend full reading as allowed by the posted agenda.
The ordinance passed at the March 3 meeting; the transcript and meeting record do not specify an effective date or subsequent development approvals required under the city’s land-use process.
