At its March 4 meeting, the York City Council recorded votes on minutes, certificates of appropriateness, appointments and program agreements. The council approved the following on unanimous roll calls unless otherwise noted.
Minutes - Motion to approve the Feb. 4, 2025 legislative meeting minutes and the Feb. 26, 2025 committee meeting minutes: moved, seconded and approved (vote: unanimous).
Certificate of Appropriateness - Resolution number 14 (introduced by Bessie Buckingham): “A resolution accepting the recommendations of HARB and approving a certificate of appropriateness for work to be done at 15 East Philadelphia Street.” The resolution was moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
Appointment - Resolution number 15 (introduced by Teresa Johneskew): Appoint Sarah O’Brien as an alternate member of HARB to serve until January 2030. Moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
Refuse Contract - Resolution number 16 (introduced by Alicia Dennis): Authorize a contract with Goods Disposal for refuse, recycling curbside and container collection services (see separate article for details). Moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
Program Agreement - Resolution number 17 (introduced by Queen of Washington): Authorize an agreement with York County for the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies program for the period 07/01/2020 through 06/30/2025 in the amount of $500,000. Health Bureau Director Monica Krueger said the agreement is the recurring annual contract used to fund the program; council approved the resolution on roll call.
Introductions (no vote tonight) - Bill number 2 (introduced by Felicia Dennis): Ordinance amending the FY2025 budget for the Parks and Recreation Bureau by appropriating $20,400 for building repairs (will sit). - Bill number 3 (introduced by Queen of Washington): Ordinance amending the FY2025 budget for the Bureau of Health by appropriating revenue and expenditures for the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies program in the amount of $145,198 (will sit). - Bill number 4 (introduced by Queen of Washington): Ordinance amending the FY2025 budget by appropriating revenue and expenditures for a JAG grant for the period 10/01/2024 through 09/30/2027 in the amount of $50,725 (will sit).
How the council voted (summary) - Roll-call votes recorded five yes votes and no opposing votes for each resolution that was adopted at the meeting. The clerk conducted standard roll calls for each recorded vote.
