City manager says 60th/Seventh sewer project underway, $2 million state grant funds construction

Staff said the project connects the new line to an existing pump station at 30th and Fifth on the south side of the city, and that Pierce County will own and maintain the pump station. The city's engineering crew designed the project in-house and is providing construction inspection services, staff said, and the project is slated for completion this summer.
Council members thanked staff for the update and asked for a follow-up on budget and schedule performance closer to the project's finish. The manager said staff will report back if issues arise; no formal council action was taken during the update.
