The O'Leary Planning Commission on March 4 approved a conditional use permit for 1 Lowell LLC to allow a licensed beauty service provider at 1 Lowell Street in Elyria.
Planning staff told the commission the request seeks to permit a licensed beauty service provider, classified as a personal service use and conditionally permitted in the city's light industrial district. Staff recommended approval, and no members of the public spoke in favor or opposition during the hearing.
Fire Marshal Gull raised a single operational concern, saying the use must not change exit access or emergency lighting. "If the commission members approve this conditional use my concern would be that the use of the space will not change exit access or emergency lighting," the fire marshal said on the record.
Commissioner Panowski moved to approve the conditional use; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Aden and carried on a voice vote. The record shows approval by the commission; the transcript records a voice "aye" and no stated nays.
