Council approves Jackson's Grant Village Phase 2 PUD rezoning for 1.6-acre lot

Attorney John Davis Shevas, representing Homes by Mackenzie, told the council the parcel is surrounded on three sides by the existing Jackson's Grant Village PUD and abuts 116th Street. The applicant proposes townhomes identical to units already under construction in the development; Shevas said anticipated values for the new townhomes are $1.2 million to $1.3 million.
The Plan Commission had previously given a unanimous favorable recommendation. No members of the public spoke at the council public hearing. The council voted to suspend the rules and act on first reading the same evening; the motion to approve passed 9-0.
Sponsor Councilor Menard introduced the ordinance and members said they had no questions after the applicant presentation. With the suspension of rules and unanimous vote, the rezoning moves forward under the PUD amendment process.
