The resolution directs the clerk to publish notice of the hearing and to post participation information on the Albany County website.
The presiding officer then read Resolution No. 42 for 2025, which schedules a public hearing on proposed Local Law S (2024). The text reads that Local Law S would amend the Albany County Charter and Local Law No. 8 (1993) "to adjust the monetary threshold of the Board of Contract Administration." That resolution likewise directs the clerk to publish required notice and to make participation information available online.
There were no members of the public who spoke at the hearing: "Is there anyone in the chamber who wishes to speak on Local Law S for 2024? Hearing none," the presiding officer said before closing the public hearing. The public-hearing segment concluded without public comment, and the legislature moved on to adjournment.
A motion to adjourn was made by Legislator Burgdorff and seconded by Legislator Miller; the legislature adjourned after a voice vote. The resolutions as read instruct the Clerk of the Albany County Legislature to publish notice containing the necessary information in accordance with applicable law and to post participation details on the county website. The scheduled Feb. 25 hearings will be the formal opportunity for public comment on the proposed local laws.
