Missoula County commissioners approve consent agenda, reappoint construction board member

The Missoula County Board of County Commissioners approved most items on the consent agenda and reappointed a member to the county Construction Board of Appeals at a regularly scheduled meeting.

The board approved consent agenda items 1 through 4 and 6 and 7 and postponed item 5. The approved package included a $250,000 increase to a storm-cleanup contract intended to cover additional grinding work that could not be handled by local facilities, county staff said.

A county building-services staff member presenting the Construction Board of Appeals item said, “We are required by the state to have a board of appeals.” The staff member said the board is established under Montana administrative rules and hears appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the chief building official. Commissioners approved Derek Holland for another five-year term on the board.

Commissioners made the consent motion, received a second and approved the items by voice vote; members responded “aye.” The record did not identify individual yea or nay votes by name.

County staff told the commissioners they would connect an online questioner with Adrian from the department for more detail on the storm-cleanup contract increase.

The meeting included routine correspondence and scheduling notes: commissioners were reminded they will be at the Montana Association of Counties meeting next week and the National Association of Counties meeting the following week, leading to a short pause in regular administrative meetings.

No additional formal actions were recorded on the storm-cleanup contract beyond its inclusion and approval in the consent agenda.
