County Attorney Enruth told commissioners the funds would “go to improve the court specifically with regards to treatment options for the individuals that were that are in them,” including counseling, alcohol monitoring and alcohol or drug testing. He said the Veterans Court primarily serves as a felony treatment court for veterans, while the DUI court aims to prevent participants from receiving a felony DUI by providing treatment and monitoring for repeat offenders.
The hearing drew one proponent, Bridal Frost, who gave her name and address for the record and said, “I think you should pass this.” The communication to schedule the public hearing was submitted by Mike Clegg, Deputy County Attorney, according to the agenda item.
