Northwestern Energy easement: Commissioners approved an easement request from Northwestern Energy to reroute overhead electric facilities at 701 North Cedar Street (the county shop and impound yard). Sean Daffner of Northwestern Energy described the reroute and said it removes two spans that cross the county yard and allows reconductoring to increase feeder capacity that has grown since 2020. The motion to approve the Northwestern Energy overhead electric power-line easement passed by voice vote.
Sanitarian contract: The commission approved a contract renewal with Grama Consulting LLC (transcript shows alternate spellings in later references) to provide sanitarian services for April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026. Staff noted the county shares the sanitarian with neighboring counties and praised the contractor’s expedited work on DEQ approvals.
Rodeo association grant: The commission approved a grant recommendation from the Broadwater County Trust Board to the Broadwater Rodeo and Fair Association for $47,689.30 to improve fairgrounds infrastructure. The trust-board package shows a cash match of $12,747.70 and in-kind match of $6,202; proposed purchases include a new mower, storage container for advertising signs, upgrades to handicapped grandstands and an outdoor sound system.
Other routine approvals: Commissioners approved a letter of interest from Alex Potter to remain on the Mental Health Local Advisory Council (three-year term) and approved three sets of county claims: $38,136.99; $36,689.58; and $281,311.33. All motions were approved by voice vote.
Ending: These approvals complete the Feb. 19 consent and action agendas; commissioners reiterated there will be no meeting next week due to the Mako legislative conference.
