The Mason County Board of Commissioners on March 4 approved a slate of routine fiscal and administrative items, including payment warrants, a staffing change in juvenile detention, the recording of final county road construction costs for 2024, an amendment to an interlocal agreement for emergency services at a public works facility, and a contract with the Puget Sound Partnership.
Commissioners approved warrants and remittance claims including warrants 8111070 through 8111212 for $1,149,270.64, direct deposit warrants 114005 through 114420 for $999,535.36 and salary clearing fund warrants 7008718 through 7008745 for $685,786.98. The board also approved converting two unfilled permanent part‑time juvenile detention positions into one permanent full‑time position with full benefits and recorded the final cost of county road construction projects completed by county forces in 2024 at $953,215.52.
The board authorized the chair to sign an amendment to an interlocal agreement with Central Mason Fire Emergency Services to add provision of fire protection and emergency medical services for the public works facility, and authorized the county administrator to sign a Puget Sound Partnership contract for $214,474. Commissioners also approved removing liens on three properties and filing formal notices against each, and set a public hearing for March 18, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. to consider the sale of county property at 7 Public Works Drive (parcel 42002‑13‑90070) for $465,000 to David C. Bailey and/or assigns. Finally, the board appointed Bernie Gains to the Mason County Parks and Trails Advisory Board for a four‑year term expiring March 4, 2029.
