Staff member, a meeting presenter, urged Miami Lakes residents to report non-emergency incidents to police and offered examples including noise complaints, thefts discovered after the fact and suspicious vehicles or people in neighborhoods.
"As you observed in the previous video, far too often crimes occur of a non emergency nature in which police is not called. The following are some examples of non emergency situations. Noise complaints. Theft of stolen property after it occurs. Suspicious vehicles or individuals in your neighborhood," the staff member said.
The presenter said reporting these non-emergency incidents helps law enforcement detect patterns and respond appropriately. The speaker also advised residents to save the police contact listed as "305" in their phones and added, "And remember, when in doubt, call 911."
No formal motion or vote accompanied the announcement.
