Board delays counseling curriculum adoption for further review

The School District No. Re-3 Fort Morgan Board of Education tabled consideration of a proposed counseling curriculum to allow staff and a counseling committee further review of program cost and digital licensing.
Assistant Superintendent Lena Rasco told the board she chose to table the counseling curriculum item because current products are more expensive than expected and most are delivered digitally; she said a counseling committee meeting is scheduled and staff wanted additional conversation with vendors and administrators before seeking board approval. "The cost is a lot higher than I want it to be," Rasco said during her report.
At the time of the meeting the board formally removed action item B (counseling curriculum) from the consent/agenda list; staff said the issue will return after the counseling committee meets and staff gathers additional pricing and licensing details. No vote to adopt the counseling curriculum occurred during the meeting.
