St. Pete Beach waives hurricane-related permit fees through April 22; City Hall offers volunteer permit help

Mayor Adrian Petrola said St. Pete Beach is waiving permit fees for hurricane-related home repairs through April 22 and that volunteers are helping residents complete permits at City Hall.
"So far, we have waived over $2,000,000 of permit fees for hurricane related damage for your homes," Petrola said, adding, "So we're going to continue doing that again until April 22." The mayor said volunteers staff City Hall's permitting assistance desk from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and that wait times are "almost 0."
The waiver and in-person help are aimed at speeding recovery work after storm damage. City officials urged residents to submit permits as soon as possible so work can proceed under the waived-fee policy. The mayor also noted that volunteers are available to walk residents through the permitting process on weekdays at City Hall.
The announcement came as part of a brief video update from the mayor's office; contact information for the mayor was provided on the city website for residents with questions.
