Loudoun County Commission approves five rezoning requests, appoints 911 board member and OKs sheriff camera contract

The Loudoun County Commission on March 3 approved five rezoning requests, appointed a deputy police chief to the county 911 board, authorized a sheriff’s department camera contract and passed a set of budget adjustments and small payments.

The commission voted to approve rezoning items labeled A through E, which included changes from agricultural and residential districts to developing-agricultural and rural-residential districts, and one rezoning to a community facilities district (CFD) for a church property. Commissioner Satterfield said the CFD approval should be “contingent on the church buying the property and ultimately building a church,” and commissioners adopted that condition before approving the CFD rezoning.

Other formal actions included the appointment of Sam Harrison, identified in the meeting as deputy police chief in Loudoun City, to the county’s 911 board; authorization of $10,950 from the fire safety commitment fund for the Stevens Lane Tower cleanup; approval to retain a part-time position in Chancery Court through June 30,…
