Mason County receives appraised offer of $465,000 for Public Works Lot 7; commissioners to set hearing

Public Works staff told commissioners at the March 3 briefing that the county has received an offer equal to the appraised value — $465,000 — for Lot 7, a parcel at the corner of State Route 101/102 and Public Works Drive.
Staff said Lots 6 and 8 previously sold and that the feasibility review for this Lot 7 offer has been completed. Public Works requested authority to sign the offer so the transaction can move forward while the formal sale is scheduled for approval at a regular commissioners meeting with an associated public hearing.
Commissioners directed staff to set the required public hearing and noted the county’s realtor, Richard Beckman, has worked with the county on prior property processes. Staff said full sale paperwork and timelines will be brought back to a regular meeting for final approval after the notice and hearing requirements are met.
