Ambulance equipment: Natasha requested approval of extra equipment for a 2026 ambulance expected to arrive in April 2026. She itemized an additional cabinet for the CPR seat, D‑tank storage, O2 lift compartment, backup camera and an additional bulkhead storage cabinet and requested approval for $6,786. A commissioner made a motion to authorize the additions, a second was recorded, and the board approved the $6,786 expenditure by voice vote.
Property tax collection and online payments: Commissioners granted permission to Treasurer Laura Wheeler (represented at the meeting by Teresa) to collect spring property taxes at the county highway garage from April 14 to the May due date because the courthouse will be closed for renovations. Commissioners also approved continuing to accept online payments through PayGov; counsel had reviewed the new e‑check vendor and the board voted to continue using PayGov with the vendor switch.
Routine minutes, claims and payroll: The board accepted the Executive Session minutes from Feb. 18 and approved Claims and Payroll number 5 by motion and unanimous voice vote.
Conflict of interest and conference requests: Commissioners accepted a conflict‑of‑interest disclosure from Albert John “AJ” Gutwein, noting his company Gutwein Bulldozing and Excavating sometimes bids on county projects. The board also approved a conference request for Highway Department employees Gary Krueger and Dave Olds to attend Road School at Purdue March 18–19.
All the above actions were approved by motions with recorded seconds and unanimous “aye” voice votes as reflected in the meeting record; no opposed votes were recorded in the transcript.
