The Committee on Appoinments on Feb. 25 confirmed Mayor David LeGrand’s appointment of Ryan Wheeler and Aiden Van Doren to the Uptown Corridor Improvement Authority.
Both confirmations were moved and supported from the floor and carried by voice vote with no recorded dissent. Committee members briefly reviewed the authority’s membership and remaining openings; staff noted one remaining partial term expiring Dec. 3, 2026, and reported ongoing vetting of additional candidates for Uptown and the Uptown Business Improvement District.
Committee members asked staff to follow up with the authority liaison to confirm which skills and demographic gaps remain on the board before returning nominations for final approval. A commissioner asked staff to check the list of vacancies after the next item and to report back; staff agreed to do so.
The committee adjourned at 8:07 a.m.
