Tipp City Council holds first reading on revised thoroughfare plan removing proposed 80-foot roadway

Tipp City Council held a first reading on March 3 of an ordinance to adopt a revised thoroughfare plan that eliminates a proposed 80-foot roadway in a portion of the city that was rezoned from industrial to residential.
Matt Mack, city staff, told the council the revised plan removes the large thoroughfare, originally intended for truck traffic, because the area’s zoning has changed since the road was proposed. "This ordinance modifies the thoroughfare plan to eliminate a proposed 80 foot [roadway]," Mack said during the presentation.
A council member volunteered to sponsor the ordinance for introduction and future consideration; the council did not take a final vote at the meeting. Because the item was a first reading, no formal adoption or amendment occurred on March 3.
Council discussion at the meeting was limited to the staff presentation and the sponsorship; the council set the item up for future consideration consistent with the city's ordinance reading process.
