He said winning projects will receive grants between $1,000 and $5,000 and mentorship; applications are open to youth ages 15 to 25 at wpb.org/ycaf. The mayor also reminded residents that the 43rd Palm Beach International Boat Show runs March 19–23 in downtown, listing the show’s scale as stated on the record: more than 1,000 boats on display, including over 200 super yachts and more than 40 vessels exceeding 50 feet.
Commission President Ward announced neighborhood events including a Northwood Shores neighborhood yard sale on Saturday, March 8, community engagement meetings on Curry Park redevelopment through March 29, and a Nights in Northwood Village event on March 14. Ward also described recent Reef Institute field trips with Northmore Elementary students and a volunteer beautification event led by the Pleasant City Youth Empowerment Center.
Commissioner Fox reminded residents of road closures and staging related to the Palm Beach International Boat Show and shared ticketing information for the event. Commissioner Fox also highlighted Coffee Fest at City Hall on March 7 as a downtown development authority event.
Commissioner Lambert gave updates on South Flagler seawall repairs, promoted the city’s WPB Key app for reporting municipal issues, announced the opening of summer camp registration, and promoted the ninth annual Run With the Cops 5K on April 13.
The mayor announced a series of public safety community meetings with newly appointed Police Chief Tony Araujo beginning Wednesday, April 9 at the Gaines Park Community Center. No formal actions were taken on these announcements; they were informational updates to residents.
