Commissioners approve resolution to authorize closing documents for former Greenbrier property transfer

The board approved Resolution 2025-05, authorizing the chair to sign closing documents necessary to finalize transfer of the former Greenbrier property from the Chamber to Lincoln County.

A county representative told commissioners Title Services required a board resolution authorizing the chair to sign closing documents for their title commitment; once received, the representative said Title Services considered the closing process complete except for signing. The transfer will remove the property from the tax rolls effective the date the county takes ownership, county staff said.

Commissioners amended the motion to clarify that multiple signatures would be collected as needed and then approved the resolution by roll call. Staff thanked county legal/title staff and an individual (Tyler) who helped finalize the closing steps.

Ending Resolution 2025-05 was approved, enabling Title Services to proceed to finalize the title commitment and closing; county staff said they would complete signatures and record the change in ownership and tax status once the closing is executed.
