County staff told commissioners that Community Action had been awarded $250,000 from the county’s Homeless Housing Fund in the prior award round: $150,000 was allocated for land acquisition and $100,000 for maintenance and operations. Staff reported Community Action purchased land with the initial allocation and now has requested the separate contract for the $100,000 operations funding. County staff said the fund has an uncommitted beginning balance and that it appears a budget supplemental will be required to authorize the operations contract.
Staff said they had forwarded a draft contract to Community Action and asked the nonprofit to provide a scope of work; county staff will finalize the contract and prepare a budget amendment as needed. Commissioners did not vote on the supplemental at the meeting; staff said they will return with contract language and the required budget action once Community Action provides the scope and schedule.
