Grant application for County Road 318 bridge County staff described a proposed application under the Rebuild Alabama Act annual grant program for a $350,000 request to help reconstruct a bridge on County Road 318 that county staff reported overtops during high-water events. The county estimates total construction at about $625,000 and plans to include a $275,000 appropriation in the next budget year if the grant is awarded. County staff said the existing bridge was built circa 1950, is roughly 50 feet long and carries about 750 vehicles per day; it is currently posted at a 30-ton gross load.
