Kitsap Regional Library launches yearlong 80th‑anniversary celebration with passport program, limited‑edition items and May community party

The year’s programming will culminate in a community celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. May 9 at the Silverdale branch.
Jeanne credited the library communications team — Victoria Gingri, Ayanna Jones, Caitlin Nicholas and Terry Tapia — for year‑long preparation, and she said the Kitsap Regional Library Foundation provided much of the financial backing for the anniversary items and events. "Most of our anniversary celebration is supported by our Kitsap Regional Library Foundation and would not be possible without their help," she said.
Board members previewed activities and asked about logistics; Jeanne said some items (for example, limited‑edition cards) are distributed as earned prizes rather than given freely to board members. She also said archival research and partnerships with the Kitsap History Museum will contribute to displays and timelines later in the year.
