Public Works committee approves right‑of‑entry, quitclaim deeds and easement for Columbia utility projects

1) Right of entry for Rawls Creek sewer rehabilitation (Coldstream area): County staff said the parcel is a floodway in the county’s name; the City of Columbia requested a right of entry so it can rehabilitate a city sewer line that crosses the parcel. A motion to approve staff recommendation carried.
2) Quitclaim deeds for water and sewer lines serving the Northlake Service Center: Staff said lines were installed when the project was developed but deeds were never recorded; the City requested quitclaim deeds so it may assume ownership. The committee approved executing the deeds.
3) Easement for water line relocation at Ripley Station Road (bridge/bridge replacement project): Staff said a City water line attached to a bridge will need relocation to allow an upcoming bridge replacement project; the recommended easement will allow the City to relocate (bore under Ross Creek). The committee approved the easement.
Motions were made and seconded for each item and approved without recorded opposition. Committee members recorded motions and seconds on the record for each action.
