Commissioners asked about reporting requirements, contractor selection and whether local firms would be included; staff said the airport authority will lead developer selection and that the county will receive monthly project reports and periodic updates to the commission. Shaikh said the county will cap its exposure at $9 million and that if project costs exceed the current estimate, the airport authority and private developers will be responsible for overruns.
