City staff said MKSK provided a full-scope proposal that includes stakeholder engagement, open houses and design deliverables; staff emphasized the council could scale the scope and budget to match the level of in-person engagement desired. “This is kind of our first step in beginning to work on a long-range plan for Pepper Pike Park,” the staff liaison said.
Councilmembers praised MKSK’s track record on similar projects, said they preferred receiving several concept options from the firm, and discussed in-person open houses versus web-based outreach. One councilmember said the Parks and Beautification Committee would like to move forward with the process and asked staff to schedule MKSK for a future meeting.
No formal vote was taken; council agreed to consider inviting MKSK for a presentation and to continue review of the firm’s materials.
