SPRING HILL, Kan. — The Spring Hill City Council on Feb. 28 voted to accept Johnson County funding and authorize the mayor to sign an agreement to repair and resurface 200 & Seventh Street from Webster Street to Woodland Road, and approved a resolution acknowledging the city’s planned County Assistance Road System (CARS) projects for 2026 through 2030.
The council approved an agreement that accepts reimbursable CARS funding for a 2025 resurfacing project estimated to have roughly $577,000 in eligible costs, with Johnson County agreeing to reimburse 50 percent of eligible construction and testing costs up to $257,000. Jacob Spear, director of public works, told the council the county “will reimburse us for 50% of the eligible expenses up to $257,000.” The city will pay the remainder from its capital/cash reserves.
