Hundreds of student musicians from elementary through high school performed at the Basin Honor Bands and High Desert Honor Bands concerts, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandri said.

Student performers described music as a formative experience. One said, “Music can be somebody's life, but music really for me has just taught me many things. I've learned discipline, patience, just critical thinking.” Another performer said the experience made them feel proud: “It makes me feel warm inside, like, nice. It... it makes me feel proud of myself.”
