Commissioners move several items to consent agenda: bridge donation, rec lighting RFQ, recycling grant, livestock pens, internships and appointments

Carrollton, Ga. — During the Feb. 27 meeting the Carroll County Board of Commissioners agreed to place multiple operational and capital items on the consent agenda for the board's next regular meeting. The items discussed included a DOT bridge right-of-way donation request, selection of a lighting-design consultant for recreation electrical upgrades, acceptance of a recycling diversion grant for a cardboard compactor, purchase of livestock-handling equipment for the Ag Center, two ACCG internship positions, and appointments to emergency-services boards.

Bridge on Lovern Mill Road: Danny Yates, public works director, said the Georgia Department of Transportation plans to replace a bridge on Lovern Mill Road in Commissioner Bailey's district and asked whether the county would donate $75,000 to cover right-of-way acquisition and possible utility relocation.…
