Carrollton, Ga. — The Carroll County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 27 approved a resolution to finalize bond financing numbers for Tanner Medical Center after bond pricing produced a total issue of $170,535,000.
County Attorney (name not specified) told commissioners the all-inclusive true interest cost for the financing is 4.21%. The financing includes roughly $140,000,000 of new-money projects and a refunding of a portion of the county's 2015 bonds, about $43,000,000, producing savings of approximately $5,200,000 and a net present value benefit of about $4,000,000.
The board voted to approve the final numbers and to authorize execution of the related agreements. The motion to approve carried unanimously on the roll call recorded as 7–0.
County Attorney: "A few weeks ago, you all approved a resolution to authorize the intergovernmental agreement for the Carroll City and County Hospital Authority bond financing. And today, we have a proposed resolution to approve the final numbers for the bond financing based on the bond pricing yesterday."
Commissioners asked staff to confirm that the not-to-exceed amounts were consistent across documents; staff confirmed the language had been cleaned up and the documents now corresponded. No additional public comment or amendments were recorded during the vote.
The board then moved on to other business, including an executive session later in the meeting. The county attorney and finance staff will proceed with executing the agreements and final documents authorized by the resolution.
