Commissioner Atkinson said he was “excited that D3 gets to have a voice again.” Public comment supported restoring separate boards and asked staff to consider changes that encourage participation, such as alternate members and more frequent meeting schedules.
What’s next: Staff will implement the membership allocations, align the new boards with county code, and publish appointment opportunities. The motion to approve was made by Commissioner Delaney and seconded by Commissioner Altman; the vote was 5–0.
