Board approves $14.25 million for Reynolds Middle School phase 3 renovation

He told the board that Reynolds currently houses about 1,700 students and that, unlike Rogers, Reynolds is not expected to see as sharp an enrollment drop when new middle schools open, so the district must phase work differently.
"This phase 3 for $14,246,439 is the complete renovation of Area 3 and Area 1 of the building," Dr. Bradley said, describing the work as floor-to-ceiling—new flooring, ceilings, furniture and technology upgrades.
Trustees approved the motion to accept the GMP. The vote passed 6–0 with one abstention; the transcript does not specify which trustee abstained.
Background: Reynolds opened in 1999 (as a high school) with an addition in 2002; the classrooms affected have not been renovated since those earlier construction phases, according to the administration. The administration said this phase will bring 50–60% of the building to a substantially modern condition; a phase 4 will follow later to complete the program.
