Prosper ISD board approves $9.63 million guaranteed maximum price for Rogers Middle School roof and HVAC work

"This proposed to you, this guaranteed maximum price not to exceed $9,634,506," said Dr. Bradley, who presented the project to trustees. He said about 85,000 square feet of roof and multiple aged HVAC units will be replaced and that a small amount of library work is included because the area is accessible during the same scope of work.
The board discussed timing and enrollment. Dr. Bradley explained the district plans to complete the above-roof scope this summer and then pause further work until the 2026–27 school year, when openings of new middle schools are expected to reduce Rogers’ enrollment and make interior work feasible without displacing large numbers of students. "Rogers has about 1,620 kids in it," Dr. Bradley said; he reminded trustees the building was designed for roughly 1,250.
Trustees approved the motion to accept the GMP as presented. The recorded vote was a 6–0 approval with one abstention; the transcript does not identify which trustee abstained.
The administration and construction team told the board the project will be a summer "sprint," requiring an aggressive schedule once school ends to remove the existing gravel roof system and install replacements before students return.
Background: Rogers Middle School opened in February 2008. The renovation program at Rogers is one of multiple phased projects the district is running to address aging systems and capacity as enrollment has grown.
What’s next: With the board’s approval the administration may finalize the GMP contract and proceed with the permitting and summer mobilization; additional phases of renovation are expected later and will return to the board for approval.
