Cobb County opens seven solicitations, recognizes vendor responses; two projects postponed to March 13

Cobb County procurement staff opened seven solicitations Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, reading vendor responses for a master task order contracting program covering 2025–2028 and for several annual supply and service contracts, and announced two solicitations had been postponed until March 13.
Deputy Director of Procurement Services Stephanie Bryce told attendees that Project T3026, an invitation to bid (ITB) for an influent lift station HVAC replacement at the South Cobb Water Reclamation Facility on behalf of the Cobb County Water System, was postponed until March 13. She also announced that solicitation identified in the transcript as "20 five-six thousand 877," an RFP for methane, groundwater and surface-water monitoring and reporting on behalf of Cobb County Sustainability, Waste and Beautification, was postponed to March 13.
The postponements came at the start of the bid opening for the county's master task order contracting (TOC) contract covering 2025–2028, which the procurement office organized into four categories (A–D). Procurement staff read aloud dozens of vendor responses across those categories. Firms listed for category A included AECOM Technical Services Inc.; Atlas Technical Consultants LLC; Gresham Smith; HDR Engineering Inc.; HNTB Corporation; Kimley-Horn; Michael Baker International; Moffatt & Nichol; Pond & Company; RS&H Inc.; Rummel, Klepper & Kahl LLP (RK&K); Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.; and WSP USA. Category B, C and D also drew multiple responses from national and regional engineering and consulting firms, including CDM Smith; Stantec Consulting Services; Jacobs; NV5; Keck & Wood; and several specialized local firms.
Procurement staff also opened or recognized responses for six additional solicitations on behalf of county departments:
- Solicitation 25-6879 (ITB): annual contract for purchase of gear, safety tools, hardware and janitorial supplies for the Cobb County Water System warehouse. Firms read included Applied Industrial Technologies; Galco Industrial Safety and Supply; Georgia Ladder & Equipment; Hemera Holding LLC; Pyramid School Products; Quill LLC; Unipac Corp.; and UnitedSales USA Corp.
- Solicitation 25-6880 (RFP): janitorial services for the Cobb County Water System, evaluated on qualitative factors in addition to cost. Firms read included American Facility Services Inc.; Building Maintenance Services Inc.; Caseco Team LLC; Chiada Corporation; Clean Net of Atlanta; InterContinental Commercial Services (ICS); and Sparco Inc.
- Solicitation 25-6881 (ITB): annual contract for water and wastewater pipe valves and related materials for the Cobb County Water System. Respondents read included Core & Main; Delta Municipal Supply Co.; Empire Pipe & Supply; and Ferguson Enterprises LLC.
- Solicitation listed in the transcript as 25-6882 (ITB): annual contract for purchase and delivery of ferrous chloride for the Cobb County Water System. The only respondent read was PVS Technologies Inc.
- Solicitation 25-6884 (ITB): annual contract for tree limb removal and trimming on behalf of the Cobb County Department of Transportation. Firms read included Boutet Tree Inc.; Indigo Lawnscape LLC; 1-2 Tree; Premier Tree & Shrub Care LLC; Richmond Tree Experts GA; Sesmas Tree Service LLC; Sparco Inc.; and Worldscapes LLC.
Bryce closed the session by reminding viewers that a listing of bidding opportunities estimated to be in excess of $50,000 is available on the Cobb County procurement website and said preliminary bid results and approved bid awards are available via the county's OpenGov portal or procurement web pages. She said the next regularly scheduled bid opening will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, and provided the procurement page URL: www.cobcounty.org/procurementservices.
