Delcom presents Smart Rural Community recognition and plans fiber build in Pecos

Tennyson described Delcom as a regional provider that has expanded fiber across West Texas and southeastern New Mexico since 2011. He said the initiative aligns with the community—s vision for connectivity, supports businesses, health care and schools, and will promote economic development.
Delcom staff presented a short video and named local partners they said were key to the recognition, including Reeves County leadership and the Pecos Economic Development Corporation. Tennyson introduced Rhianna Cruz of Delcom, who he said led the local Smart Rural initiative and who presented the recognition to the mayor and council.
The company said the fiber expansion will be a staged effort and thanked county and city leaders for support. No action was taken by council; the presentation was delivered during public comment and informational updates.
