Mayor Jay Christian Dumas nominated Anne Mikhen to the Marlborough Council on Aging for a four-year term ending the first Monday in May 2029. The Personnel Committee considered the nomination at its February 19 meeting and recommended confirmation by a 3-0 vote.
In the mayor’s communication, Dumas noted Mikhen’s long residency in Marlborough, her work as an education assistant until retiring in 2019 and her active participation in senior-center activities including fitness classes, garden club and book club. Mikhen told the committee she wanted to help ensure the senior center remains “a warm and welcoming place for people to come.”
Councilors praised Mikhen’s volunteer history with schools, music associations and church groups and said she would be a positive addition to the Council on Aging. Councilor Doucette made the motion to approve; the committee voted 3-0 and will forward the nomination to the full City Council for confirmation.
