North Syracuse students win record 182 Central New York Scholastic Art Awards; exhibit open at OCC

Daryl, a district staff member, told the Board of Education that students from CNS High School and North Syracuse Junior High earned a record 182 awards in the 2025 Central New York Scholastic Art Awards.
Daryl reported the awards break down to 39 Gold Key distinctions, 55 Silver Keys and 88 honorable mentions. The awards program evaluates submissions on originality, technical skill and personal vision; Daryl credited the art department staff and named Heather Blasky, Cara Daviau, Tracy Lieberman and Rebecca Patterson for their work with students.
All award winners’ work is part of an exhibition at Onondaga Community College; Daryl said the exhibit runs through Feb. 28 and opened Jan. 14. Board members and the superintendent recognized Tracy Lieberman in the meeting; Lieberman was present.
Ending: Board members expressed appreciation for the art department’s work and urged the district community to view the OCC exhibition.
