Seattle City Council adopts consent calendar unanimously, then convenes executive session on potential litigation

The Seattle City Council unanimously adopted its consent calendar at the Feb. 25 meeting and then moved into an executive session to discuss pending potential or actual litigation.

Council President Sarah Nelson moved to adopt the consent calendar, and a second was made. The clerk called the roll: Council member Rivera, Council member Saka, Council member Solomon, Council member Strauss, Council member Hollingsworth, Council member Kettle, Council member Moore, Council member Rink and Council President Sarah Nelson all voted in favor. The clerk recorded "9 in favor, none opposed." The consent calendar listed the minutes of February 2025 and Council Bill 120,941 (payment of the bills).

Following the vote, Nelson announced the council would convene into executive session to discuss "pending potential or actual litigation." She said the executive session was expected to last about an hour and gave an approximate end time of 3:30 p.m., adding she would return to announce any extension. The council recessed into executive session at approximately 2:14 p.m. No decisions were announced in the open meeting before the executive session began.
