Troutdale councilor Zach Andrews sworn in to fill two-year term

Zach Andrews took the oath of office at the start of the Feb. 25 Troutdale City Council meeting and will serve the remainder of a two-year term left vacant when Ed Rookman was elected mayor.
The oath was administered as part of a brief event before the regular council meeting. Councilors and staff congratulated Andrews and invited remarks. Andrews thanked the mayor, council and city staff for selecting him and said his goal was “to continue to help Troutdale grow and thrive in a way that’s unique and signature in our very own style.”
Andrews was chosen at a prior council meeting from a field of applicants to complete the term. The council proceeded to regular business after swearing him in and later recorded his presence in the roll call for the Feb. 25 meeting.
Council members said they welcomed Andrews and encouraged him to work with the full council and staff on ongoing city business. No formal action beyond the administration of the oath and the later roll call was recorded at that time.
