Smyrna approves rental of Science Center treehouse exhibit for fall 2025 season

Staff said the exhibit would be on-site from mid-September to early January and the rental cost is $25,000 plus shipping. Jennings and Rebecca Jones Foundation is providing a third-year sponsorship totaling $20,000 across three years, and Middle Tennessee Electric has pledged $5,000 for exhibits this year, which staff said covers the current cost.
Mike (Parks and Recreation) described the exhibit as appropriate for field trips and family programming and asked council approval to move forward with the rental agreement. Staff said the exhibit is part of seasonal rotation and that the Science Center is a frequent vendor for the town.
