Richfield Council: minutes, consent items, claims and payroll approved; proclamation adopted

The Richfield City Council at its Feb. 25 meeting approved routine procedural items including minutes, the consent calendar, claims and payroll, and adopted a proclamation marking Women’s History Month.
Council approved minutes from the Feb. 11 council work session and Feb. 11 regular meeting. The council then approved the consent calendar, which included authorization for the city manager and mayor to enter into a right-of-entry agreement with the owner of real property at 7221 Lindale Avenue South for removal of a privately owned dead oak tree by a city contractor, and approval of the 2024–25 law enforcement and fire department therapy dog grant program.
The council also adopted a proclamation declaring March 2025 as Women’s History Month in Richfield; Human Rights Commission Commissioner Maddie Vuksen joined the mayor at the dais for brief remarks. The council approved claims and payroll by motion. The meeting concluded with council “hats off” recognitions for staff and community members and a motion to adjourn; the adjournment motion was moved by Council Member Coleman Woods and seconded by Council Member Christensen.
