Votes at a glance: committee forwards consent items including police mall contracts, contractor amendments and vouchers

Federal Way’s FEDRAC committee on Feb. 25 forwarded a slate of consent items to the full City Council’s March 4 consent agenda, including two mall police service agreements, contract amendments for architects and the Historical Society, purchase authorizations and the monthly vouchers and financial report.

Why it matters: These forwarded items include both routine financial housekeeping (vouchers, monthly report) and higher-priority operations and capital items: the data-center air-conditioning contract and the joint maintenance facility FF&E purchase were discussed at length and are budgeted items the city staff asked the committee to move forward so the city can meet lead times and prevent operational interruptions.

What’s next: The items will appear on the March 4 council consent agenda for final approval by the full City Council. The staff presentations and record reflect that several items carry funding commitments already identified in the packet or are to be covered by available project or general-fund sources.
