DFM seeks one additional analyst position to bolster financial oversight

DFM requested one financial management analyst senior position with ongoing personnel costs of about $118,100 and a total request of $124,400 (including onboarding and one‑time equipment) from the agency’s indirect cost‑recovery dedicated fund. The agency also included a $21,100 IT replacement request for four network switches recommended by ITS.
Laurie Wolf, DFM administrator, told the committee that turnover earlier in the administration led to unusually high vacancy reporting in past materials but that the office was currently fully staffed. She said the new position would strengthen financial reporting and oversight as the state’s accounting platform and reporting needs evolve, and would support improved visibility into executive agency budgets.
The presentation noted DFM’s role in creating the Governor’s recommended budget, monitoring appropriations, and producing financial reporting for the governor. The request was presented as part of the agency’s FY2026 package; committee members had no substantive objections on the record and the hearing concluded without a formal vote recorded on this request.
