Cobb said Care Solace will help connect callers with providers who accept their insurance, help identify good fit providers and assist in scheduling first appointments.
Dr. Otosha Morgan, lead school counselor, explained how people can access the service: administrators and learning-support staff can complete referrals on behalf of families, or individuals can self-refer using the designated Richland 2 Care Solace website. "Once Care Solace receives your referral, a care companion will be in touch with you at a time that is convenient to your schedule," Morgan said. She described an intake session that gathers insurance and preference information, followed by a vetted list of provider options and help setting the first appointment; Care Solace will follow up to check satisfaction.
The district said the service is intended to increase access to mental-health and substance-use services and encouraged the Richland 2 community to use the resource.
