School committee votes to remain a school choice district and opens seats across schools

Higgins said the plan would add to the district’s existing 48 school choice students and that, if fully filled, the new seats would not push class sizes above 24 students per classroom.

Higgins and committee members noted that the additional revenue from school choice can be used for school services, and they discussed the revolving balance in the school-choice fund (administration reported a beginning balance in that account and projected expenditures that will draw it down over several years while avoiding a cliff).
