The Liberal City Council appointed Jason England to a vacant county seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission to a term expiring Dec. 31, 2027.
City staff said the seat opened with the resignation of Mona Lisa Arredondo and that the Planning and Zoning Commission interviewed one applicant, Jason England, at its Feb. 13 meeting and voted unanimously to recommend his appointment.
Commissioner Parsons moved to appoint England to the vacant seat and Commissioner Warren seconded. The council voted 4-0 in favor. England was present at the meeting and briefly acknowledged the appointment.
Staff said the appointment fills the county seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission through the end of 2027; no public comment was made on the appointment.
