The Danville CCSD 118 Board of Education approved a contract with the vendor It's In Your Head to provide building‑wide social‑emotional services at Kenneth C. Bailey Academy (KDBA). Kelly Truax, director of educational support programs, said the vendor has worked with KDBA for two years and the total contract cost is $5,760; the district will pay the amount with KDBA Title I funds.
Truax and KDBA staff described the services as weekly sessions that teach self‑regulation techniques, breathing and sound exercises, tapping, positive affirmations, mindset training and classroom lessons the vendor pushes into combined classrooms. Administrators reported positive results in student calming and response to the vendor’s techniques. The board approved the service agreement by roll call vote, 7‑0.
The minutes clarify the $5,760 figure is the total contract cost, not a weekly charge.
