HIP Housing previews 2025 programs, home-sharing and senior housing partnerships

Laura Finucchi, director of programs at HIP Housing, presented to the council on Jan. 14 about the nonprofit's 2025 activities and partnerships. Finucchi said HIP Housing received about 500 calendar entries for its 2025 calendar, highlighted the winning artwork and used the opportunity to summarize program work planned for the year.
Finucchi said HIP Housing hopes to break ground on a new-construction affordable housing project in San Carlos with Eden Housing that would contain about 33 units (mix of two- and three-bedroom units). She described partnerships with San Mateo County to provide housing scholarships and a housing-readiness program for seniors and long-stay shelter residents, and said HIP Housing is expanding its home-sharing outreach to promote accessory dwelling units and ADU plan preapproval programs in partnership with the towns of Atherton and Hillsborough.
Finucchi also described HIP Housing's self-sufficiency program for families with children (a one- to five-year housing scholarship tied to school and job training) and thanked the town for continued support.
Council members had no follow-up questions and thanked HIP Housing for the presentation.
