On Feb. 20 the Prattville Planning Commission approved 180-day time extensions for Highland Farms Plat 1 and Highland Farms Plat 2. Planning staff said both preliminary plats were originally approved on March 2, 2023, and that a previous time extension and the 18-month preliminary-plat effective period had been granted; the newly approved extensions set new deadlines of Aug. 27, 2025.
Kenneth White of Flowers & White Engineering, the engineer of record, told the commission that Phase 1 is nearing completion and will likely be recorded soon and that Phase 2 has sewer installed and grading nearly complete. He said underground power installation took about five-and-a-half months, which contributed to the schedule.
Resolutions approved by the commission extend the time for completing final plats by 180 days for each phase and maintain all contingencies imposed at the original March 2, 2023 approvals. The commission voted in favor of both time-extension resolutions without additional conditions at the Feb. 20 meeting.
