Council appoints Don Lindsay and Robert Sullivan to ASRB after competitive seven‑applicant interview

The Woodside Town Council on Feb. 25 appointed Don Lindsay and Robert (Bob) Sullivan to two open seats on the town’s Architectural and Site Review Board (ASRB) after interviewing seven candidates in a public process.
Council members described the applicant pool as “an embarrassment of riches” and said the board will benefit from the appointees’ experience with town development review and committee service. The council conducted public interviews, allowed each candidate three to five minutes for remarks and then used a public ballot process to elect two members.
Don Lindsay, who has been serving on the ASRB and has served as chair during most of the past year, told the council he wanted to continue leading the board as members develop experience with complex proposals and housing-element guidance. Lindsay also said he is serving as treasurer of the Woodside Hills Homes Association and is constructing a new residence in town, which he said gives him recent hands-on experience with the town process.
Robert Sullivan, a longtime peninsula resident and retired financial adviser who said he and his wife have lived in Woodside Hills for 14 years, said his project experience and community engagement give him perspective on both development applicants and neighborhood concerns.
Other candidates who addressed the council included Timothy Connor (economist and recent Woodside resident with ADU experience), Lehi Seidman (scientist/executive), Vladimir Taft (technical architect and consultant), Cliff Wehrle (residential real-estate professional) and several others. Candidates described experience with building, conflict resolution, and interpretation of design guidelines.
The council conducted a public ballot process and announced that Don Lindsay and Robert Sullivan received the highest tallies; council materials note Sullivan received three votes on the final count and both eventual appointees received sufficient votes to be appointed. The council encouraged other applicants to serve on volunteer bodies in the town if they were not appointed.
No terms or start dates were announced at the meeting; staff will follow routine appointment procedures and publish the official minutes and swearing‑in schedule.
